Pilot Plant Technician (2nd shift) - Cereal, Meals & Baking, Snacks, Morning Foods, and Pet
LOCATION:
Golden Valley, MN - onsite
SHIFT/SCHEDULE:
2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm CST M-F)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for team members who come to the table with a shared passion for making food the world loves, to solve problems and shape *** for the future. As part of our Pilot Plant team, which sits within our R&D function, you will be responsible for supporting ground-breaking R&D work for various platforms including Snacks, Morning Foods, Meals and Baking, Pet and Cereal. The Pilot Plant Technician role involves setting up, sanitation and running equipment for trials. This role exhibits strong customer service in support of various ITQ platforms as a partner and technical expert.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
" Safely operates equipment, understands food safety requirements and ability to perform risk assessments
" Basic analytical tests; troubleshooting; and skill building on specific unit operations
" Agile; with an ability to flex across teams within a platform as work needs shift
" Equipment Sanitation & Basic equipment set up activities
" Technical skill Development with product, process and/or packaging equipment
" Display a sense of urgency and a desire to learn new skills and tasks to grow capability
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
" High School Degree Required
" 3-5 years of directly relatable experience and / or 2-Year Degree Preferred
" Steel Toe Boots/Shoes required
" Ability to lift, manipulate, transport up to 55 lbs.
" Basic computer/technology skills (Office Suite, other computer programs)
" Strong communication skills with peers and with customers
" Basic understanding of food safety and human safety
" Ability to work in hot/warm/cool conditions within the plant
" Ability to consistently & repeatedly lift, manipulate & transport ingredients or equipment, up to 55 lbs.
**This position involves potential exposure to common allergens including but no limited to milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame.**
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
" Previous work experience in a similar field
" Foodservice experience
" Passionate around the creation of food, Client industry, and consumer trends (both food and packaging)
" Effectively manage multiple competing priorities
" Experience of working in teams to deliver results
" Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Skills
" Comfortable in processing (pilot plant or plant) environment
" Comfortable operating equipment
" Desire to learn new concepts quickly and apply in productive ways
" Maturity to navigate through stressful situations
" Ability to assess and solve technical/mechanical problems
" Strong self-starter and holds a high regard for quality of work
NOTES:
"Training will be held during 1st shift for first several weeks and then worker will transition into their assigned shift.
"Actual days of the work week, start times and end times may change based on business needs.
" This position is considered a flex position in that the employee would learn various operations for different business to build breadth of capabilities for future development.
" With advance notification, the candidate will be required to flex to a different shift or have different hours based on evolving business needs.
" May be required to work up to 4 hours of overtime before or after their assigned shift and/or occasionally support 8-12 hours on the weekend.
