About the Job
A picker packer, also known as an order picker, is a warehouse employee who picks items from shelves and packs them for shipment:
- Picking: Locate items on shelves based on an order list
- Packing: Select the right packaging, such as boxes, tubes, or bubble wrap, to protect the items during transit
- Labeling: Print shipping labels with the correct address and tracking information
- Preparing for shipment: Stack items safely and securely in the shipping containers
- Tracking inventory: Use scanners to keep the warehouse's inventory catalog up to date
- Transporting: Use equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts to move goods within the warehouse
