RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess and act on significant changes in the patient's health condition.
- Perform assigned delegated tasks.
- Collect and document pertinent data into the electronic system.
- Communicates and treats all patients and/or families in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
- Provide emergency care on a regular and ongoing basis to patients.
- Identify and act on predictable needs of the patient.
- Meet the health care needs of patient by assessing and assisting the patient to meet expressed needs.
- Meet the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and/or families.
- Must be certified in BLS and ACLS.
- Provide patient care and obtains consultants as needed.
- Conducts outpatient clinics making observations appropriate to the outpatient's underlying disease and treatment plan, including current symptoms.
- Refers patients to appropriate contracted medical or other government facilities, providing full clinical information for care and diagnostic procedures that cannot be adequately provided at the facility.
- Educate patients and/or families regarding vaccines.
- Activate the Emergency Medical Response as indicated based on patient presentation or change in condition
- Respond and assist in an emergency.
- Provide clinical oversight to LPN's, CNA's and Health Technicians.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have 36 months of Family Practice/General Medicine Physician work experience, unless otherwise approved by the CSU Credentials Committee. Must be no lapse of services of more than six consecutive months for at least twelve months prior to beginning tour of duty.
- Must be board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Family Physicians or ABIM, and shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted physician license in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.
- Must have a valid, unrestricted DEA with schedules II-V.
- Current certification in CPR, BLS, ACLS, AND PALS. ATLS certification is highly recommended.
- Must have current state driver's license.
- Cannot be under exclu sio n s or sa nct i on s from the Medicare / Medicaid programs.
- Must fulfill all the requir e m e nt s for appointm e n t to the Medical Staff and for the granting of pri vi l eges, in accordance w ith Client policies and with the Pine Ridge Service Unit Medical Staff By-Law s .
