About the Job
As a Cash Research Associate, you will play a pivotal role in our team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments. Your responsibilities will include identifying payment locations, facilitating appropriate fund transfers, and reconciling outstanding payments. Additionally, you will be tasked with entering data accurately into our systems, liaising with insurance companies, and resolving any discrepancies efficiently. This position demands attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage holding/suspense accounts to ensure timely follow-up responses.
Research and resolve missing payments promptly.
Accurately input alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data into our systems.
Collaborate with managers to address questions or inconsistencies in data.
Familiarize yourself with computer applications relevant to denial management systems, including proficiency in at least two practice management systems and insurance carrier websites.
Assist the cash applications department in locating missing EOBs and patients, and contribute to various assigned projects.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Preferential knowledge of Epic or IDX.
Strong attention to detail while maintaining efficiency.
Familiarity with CPT, ICD-9, or medical terminology is advantageous.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively within a team.
Organizational skills are a must.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
1-2 years of experience in insurance/healthcare or previous data entry roles preferred.
Physical Demands:
Ability to work in a sitting position, operate a computer, and answer telephones.
May involve walking through hospital-based departments, including Emergency Department environments.
Work Environment:
Office and hospital work environments.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation:
Pay: $12.30-$18.40 per hour, dependent on location, qualifications, and experience.
Eligible for signing bonus for qualified new hires, subject to employment status.
Time and a half for observed holidays.
