Description | Breast Imaging Radiologist - West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Radiologyseek a breast radiologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites. - The successful candidate will practice in the area of breast imaging to include interpretation of screening and diagnostic exams and performance of image-guided breast procedures. . In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. The candidate will work onsite at the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center (BPBCC), an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, in Morgantown, WV. The BPBCC is a hub of breast imaging in West Virginia and receives referrals from throughout the state and nearby areas of neighboring states. Screening and diagnostic mammograms including tomosynthesis (Hologic), diagnostic breast ultrasounds (GE), and screening automated breast ultrasound exams (GE) are performed at the BPBCC. A high volume of breast imaging procedures including stereotactic biopsies on an upright system with tomosynthesis-guided capabilities, ultrasound-guided biopsies, and image-guided localization procedures primarily with radioactive seeds are also performed at the BPBCC daily. The breast radiologists also interpret breast MRIs (two 16-coil Siemens scanners), perform MRI-guided biopsies, and read screening mammograms via teleradiology for three additional WVU Medicine mammography facilities as well as the Bonnie’s Bus Mobile Mammography Unit. - The successful candidate will join a cohesive breast imaging team, which currently includes four fellowship-trained breast radiologists, nurses including a certified nurse navigator, and mammography and breast ultrasound technologists. The breast imaging team works closely with the remainder of the breast care team at the WVU Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, including dedicated breast surgeons and oncologists. The breast radiologists participate actively in a weekly well-attended and organized breast tumor board. The breast imaging section also welcomes and actively teaches rotating medical students and radiology residents, and there is also an ACGME-accredited breast imaging fellowship position. - Candidates must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in radiology and must have completed a breast imaging fellowship. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. - The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia’s largest health system and the state’s largest employer.
