Physician Radiologist (Intermittent) – Buffalo, NY - Department of Veteran Affairs

VA Western New York Healthcare system (VAWNYHS) is currently recruiting for an intermittent Radiologist to join its staff. VAWNYHS is academically affiliated with the state University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and provides medical, surgical, mental health and long-term care services through a range of inpatient and outpatient programs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Being proficient in interpreting X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and US.
• Expertise in mammography and IR skills a plus as well as Neuroimaging and body imaging.
• Able to protocol exams appropriately.
• Interact well with radiology staff as well as hospital staff, including but not limited to consulting with referring clinicians.
• Participate in mutli-disciplinary conferences, at the discretion of service chief.
• Being self-motivated
• Being able to work in a team environment.

Basic Requirements:

• United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
• Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.

Preferred Experience: Board Certified and Fellowship Training
