Job DescriptionNorthwestern Medicine is seeking a board-certified Palliative Medicine physician to lead an existing Palliative Medicine Team. Northwestern Medicine is the premier provider of healthcare services in Chicago’s west, northwest and south suburbs, and offers competitive compensation and benefits within a physician led work environment.
Components of the existing program include:
- 4 APRN’s and 1 SW.
- EPIC electronic medical record system wide
- Opportunity to collaborate with all oncology disciplines
- Tight integration with the Robert H Lurie Cancer Center
- Clinical Assistant Professor (or higher) academic appointment
Job Expectations:
- Actively participates in process improvement related to system and department goals.
- Leads interdisciplinary team
- Actively participates in process improvement related to system and department goals.
- Educates hospital staff on benefits of palliative medicine practices.
- Works with leaders throughout the hospital to advance program goals.
- Consults: in-patient and out-patient.
- Provide medical care related to symptom management.
- Develop and facilitates goals of care for patients in the in-patient and outpatient setting.
- Participate in Tumor Boards.
- Participate in Oncology Quality Committee / Cancer Committee.
- Serve as collaborating physician to advanced practice providers.
- Follow patients in out-patient clinics weekly.
- EPIC electronic health record system wide.
