Job Quick Facts Specialty: Ophthalmology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Baltimore, MD Coverage Period: May 20, 2024 - Ongoing Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Reason For Need: Supplemental Shift Schedule: 3-4 days/week; 8:30a-4p - Varies from M-Th/M-W/T-F/T-Th Call Schedule: TBD Patient Volume: Ave. of 25 per day Patient Demographics: primarily 60+ yrs old Physicians in Practice: - Peds Ophthalmologist and Neuro Ophthalmologist. Support staff: Optometric Technicians (trained in retina), tester/photographer, glaucoma doc Duties: (Clinical): Surgeries in morning and see patients in afternoon for consultations. - Treating patients and consultants and resident training.; Every other Monday are surgeries. - Facilitate educational sessions with the residents on Thu and/or Fri. (Call): If theres an after-hrs emergency, it goes to residents, then triage, then lastly to the specialist. Required Procedures/Skills: - Retina tares, ruptured globes. - Must be willing to work with residents and providing them educational sessions. - May scrub in w/ the cornea specialist but not a requirement. - Special Procedures: Retina EMR: Modernizing Medicine Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance coveredRequirements: MD License or IMLC BC Fellowship At least 2 years of experience COVID vaccination proof/exemption Flu Vaccination proof/exemption
