Infectious Diseases – Clinical Faculty
Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL
The Division of Infectious Diseases at Rush University Medical Center, located in downtown Chicago, IL, is continuing to expand. We are recruiting for a physician faculty member at any academic level to join our growing team who will be expected to support Infectious Diseases services at the RUMC outpatient, inpatient, Rush Specialty Hospital (RSH) locations, and the Ruth M. Rothstein CORE Center. Candidates must have completed an ACGME approved Infectious Disease fellowship program and be board eligible or certified in Infectious Diseases. Interest and expertise in caring for people living with HIV is a plus. The position offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and an academic appointment commensurate with experience.
The Division of Infectious Disease is one of the top-ranked programs in the U.S. with 45 clinical and research faculty members and 11 fellows, plus outstanding support staff. Faculty are based at Rush, John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, and the Ruth M. Rothstein CORE Center, one of the largest HIV/AIDS clinics in the country. Rush and Cook County Health are committed to providing outstanding and innovative treatments to patients, translating research discoveries into improved patient care, and training expert clinicians and physician-scientists. The division provides an array of basic, translational, and clinical research opportunities with special emphasis on healthcare-associated infections, antibiotic resistance, HIV, transplant infectious diseases, viral hepatitis, and fungal diseases. Rush is the home of The Chicago Prevention and Intervention Epicenter (Chicago PIE), a multimillion-dollar CDC-funded research program with the overarching goal of preventing healthcare-associated infections. We collaborate with investigators across the nation to advance the field of infection prevention and discover new ways to protect patients. In partnership with the Chicago Department of Public Health, Rush faculty members co-direct the Regional Innovative Public Health Laboratory, which provides coordinated, regional capacity for advanced molecular epidemiologic investigation of infections of public health importance, including COVID-19.
Rush is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, and other legally protected characteristics.
