We are inviting applications for the position of MD - Family Practice Physician Locum/Contractor at Fort Duchesne Clinic. This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver comprehensive and compassionate healthcare to patients across the lifespan. The ideal candidate will contribute to a collaborative and supportive environment, with a focus on preventive care, accurate diagnosis, and effective treatment within our community-centered practice.
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 5 pm
- Full Time Hours
- Up to 1 year contract with additional extension options
- Family Practice or Internal Medicine experience as an MD Required
- 2-3 years of experience Needed
- IHS facility experience preferred
- Previous Locum Tenens experience preferred
- Board certification needed
- Work on any US license
- Adult and Pediatric experience needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Interview and examine patients. Review their medical history and conduct necessary tests to gather complete information for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Manage outpatient clinics by observing patients' conditions and treatment plans. Assess their current symptoms, medications, diet, and therapy adherence. Adjust treatment plans as needed and provide clear instructions to patients and their families in a respectful way.
- Refer patients to appropriate medical facilities for tests or treatments that cannot be done at the Unitah and Ouray Service Unit. Provide all necessary clinical information for their care.
- Keep detailed medical records for all patients, organizing key clinical data to ensure comprehensive care. Prepare reports and communications for other healthcare providers.
- Work with other healthcare professionals to coordinate services and support patients' medical, psychological, and social needs.
- Provide prenatal care for expectant patients during their first and second trimesters.
- Offer pediatric care, focusing on health, growth, and development from newborns to young adults.
- Help improve clinic operations by participating in planning, coordination, and quality improvement activities.
- Use electronic medical records effectively for prescribing, documentation, and referrals, following Meaningful Use and ICD-10 guidelines. - Treat around 12-20 patients in an 8-hour workday. Participate in peer reviews and attend committee meetings. - Perform various diagnostic and treatment procedures typical for family practice, including: - Minor surgeries like laceration repairs and skin lesion removals. - Orthopedic procedures such as joint injections and aspirations. - Supervise and support other healthcare staff, including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, and medical clerks.

Requirements:
- Completion of a (3) year residency program in a primary care specialty such as Family Practice, Pediatrics or Internal Medicine.
- Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Must be Board Eligible or Certified, Board certification in Family Medicine
- Must have current Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Certification of Education - copy of diploma or transcripts
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
- DEA license and eligibility to prescribe medication
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in family practice preferred
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
- may require a current drivers license
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to patient-centered care
- Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule
- Willingness to comply with all state and federal regulations regarding medical practice
- must be willing to undergo a federal background check
