Iowa Orthopedic Center is actively seeking a Physician Extender (Scribe) to support orthopedic providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves assisting with clinical procedures, patient education, documentation, and clinic operations to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities:
- Present relevant patient information to the provider, including diagnostic studies, past medical records, recent treatments, and subjective complaints.
- Collaborate with the provider to discuss and diagnose orthopedic conditions.
- Room patients and obtain thorough intake information and medical histories.
- Assist providers with in-office procedures.
- Document patient office visits accurately in the EMR system.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, rehabilitation exercises, and related materials.
- Fit and instruct patients on durable medical equipment and apply casts/splints.
- Prepare injection and procedure trays, including drawing up medications as directed.
- Send diagnostic and therapy orders as well as prescription medications under the provider's direction.
- Ensure clinic operations are efficient, maintaining a steady patient flow.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to facilitate seamless patient care.
- Assist with administrative or clinical projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in a clinical or orthopedic setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Certification in medical assisting or related field is a plus.
