PATHOLOGIST ASSISTANT NEEDED AT TOP BAY AREA HEALTH SYSTEM
- The Pathologists' Assistant acts as a technical expert, providing assistance and direction to trainees and staff in grossing complex cancer specimens and simple benign resections.
- Responsibilities include consulting with pathologists, making technical decisions, troubleshooting specimen issues, and performing full scope PA duties (e.g., lab prep, receiving, accessioning, intraoperative evaluations, gross sectioning).
- The role requires interaction with laboratory directors, site managers, supervisors, and designees, and includes providing technical support to the Autopsy Service and Histology Laboratory.
- Required: Bachelor's degree, graduation from a NAACLS accredited pathologists' assistant program, ASCP certification or eligibility, certification exam passage within one year if eligible.
- Preferred: Fellow membership with the American Association of Pathologists Assistants (AAPA), membership with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Master s degree.
- Compensation ranges from $98,300 to $210,300 with full-time benefits, possible relocation assistance, and eligibility for bonuses.
