About the Job
Physicians work to care for patients in a variety of ways, from treating chronic illnesses to advising about preventative healthacre. Serves as consultant to the family nurse practitioners and assist with administrative tasks on an as-needed basis. Review and implement all protocols used by TIHP. Provide caring service to all patients.
Patient clinic care
- See patients daily including:
a. Evaluation of new patients;
b. follow up care of known medical, social or other problems affecting patient health;
c. pre-jatal visits;
d. pedriatric well-and ill-child care;
e. immunizations and periodic health maintenance;
f. perform necessary procedures or arrange for the procedures to be performed by another provider.
- Perform medical follow-up at quarterly Diabetic Clinic.
- Review laboratory reports and x-rays and interpret results.
- Telephone consults with patients, as needed.
- Serve as consultant to Family Nurse Practitioners.
- Carry out home visits as needed.
Administration Duties
- Attend weekly medical clinic staff meetings.
- Attend staff meetings monthly.
- Attend hospital staff meetings as appropriate.
- Carry out special assignments to upgrade clinic quality of care and administration.
Educational Duties
- Participate in quarterly quality assurance meetings with other providers
- Participate in the education of clinic staff and medical aides on a weekly basis as needed.
- Attend continuing education f0r physicians as interest and requirements for the American Academy of Family Physicians/Certified Medical Assistant (AAFP/CMA).
- Participates in Inyo/Mono County medical society meetings as appropriate.
- Works in accordance with all Toiyabe Personnel Policies and staff responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
