Urology Advance Practice Provider

York Hospital, an independent community hospital in the charming, seaside town of York, Maine, is seeking a dynamic and energetic PA-C or NP for our well established, growing Urology practice. York Hospital is well- respected for clinical excellence and industry leading patient experience.

We offer a full array of supporting services in a comfortable, caring environment. A dedicated team of comprised of a physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistant and administrative staff support the Urology service. Our culture encourages strong, collegial relationships across all levels of staff.

York Hospital

• 48 Adult Medicine Beds: 5 ICU
• 13 bed ED
• Well established outpatient community clinics
• Wide range of specialty services within the hospital network including GYN
• Inpatient support by excellent hospitalist program
• Wide array of laboratory and imaging services

Position Attributes

• • Part-time, hospital employed;
  • Competitive salary and excellent benefits
  • Monday & Tuesday full days in office, 4 hours of administrative time

Candidate Requirements

• • License to practice as an Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Maine
  • Must have Maine licensure in progress and be active on date of hire
  • Current, unrestricted federal and, as needed, state prescriptive authority
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial
  • The PA or NP under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for the following:
• Performs physician examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic urologic conditions.
• Performs some in-office procedures such as cystoscopies, UroFlows, Catheter changes.
• Administers BCG, Lupron & Testopel
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, routine laboratory, e-ray etc..
• Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed.
• Collaborates with physicians and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients
