POSITION SUMMARY: The APP Trauma works in collaboration with a physician and other members of the interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries, ordering, conducting and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescribing of pharmacologic agents and treatments, and performing necessary invasive procedures in accordance with established protocols, policies and evidenced based practice. Provides expert education, consultation, and patient advocacy.
Job Specifics
- OSF Medical Group, part of OSF HealthCare, seeks a trauma critical care PA to join a multidisciplinary team of board certified surgeons, medical students, surgical residents, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and advanced practice providers to provide evidenced based care.
- PA must be board-eligible or board-certified. Experienced physician assistants will be considered.
- OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center is the fifth largest medical center in Illinois and the only Region 2 Level I Trauma Center in the area. OSF partners with both residency and fellowship programs and provided care to more than 2700 trauma patients last year.

- Clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $60.39--$73.68.
- Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education:Master's degree in nursing or at least an MSPAS/ MPAS as well as a valid national PA certification or acute care APRN certification Federal DEA and IL Controlled Substance Current Basic Life Support certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Other requirements/information: Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to educate family and significant others on care as well as provide emotional support during crisis, deal effectively with physicians and residents, provide training and education to residents, medical students, and nurses Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to manage care of the critically ill adult patient
