Urgent need for a Physician Assistant specialized in Occupational Medicine for Newport News, VA
*Practice Setting:* Occupational Health
*Schedule:* Monday-Friday 8:00-close (close at 4:30 pm but can be delayed by walk-in injuries)
*Average Number of Patients per Day:* 8-10
*Documentation System/EMR:* Systoc
*Number of Exam Rooms:* 5
*Number of Physicians in Practice: *1
*Description of Support Staff:* RNs, RTs, MAs, LPN, RN Supervisor, Office Manager, PSRs
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
* Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
* Perform diagnostic procedures and interpret medical imaging results as needed.
* Administer IV infusions and manage patient care in an ER or urgent care setting.
* Assist in clinical research initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and advance medical knowledge.
* Provide education to patients and their families regarding health management and preventive care.
* Participate actively in the training of medical students or residents in a teaching hospital environment.
* Manage cases in specialized units such as PICU or Level II Trauma Center when required.
* Stay updated on advancements in esthetic laser treatment techniques and other emerging medical technologies.
Must have VA active state license.
