Dr. Paul J. Robinson in Castro Valley is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for his outpatient Family Medicine office.
Position Overview:
- This position requires a reliable, highly motivated, well-spoken and inspirational individual with great customer service skills for a full-time position 4-5 days a week (Monday-Friday).
- This position is intended to become long term.
- This position will be overseen by Dr. Robinson, but the mid-level provider in this position must be able to practice independently, showing excellent diagnostic and patient management skills. Proficiency with Epic EHR is needed, although some teaching will be available.
- Patient volumes should be expected between 12-20 patients daily depending on type of visit.
- An individual in this position must be friendly, eager to serve, have excellent customer service and multi-tasking skills.
- Our office works in Primary Care Family Medicine with mostly adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient office setting. We offer a full range of primary care services for our patients including GYN, but excluding Obstetrics.
- Equipment for some minor office procedures including injection treatments, skin cryo-treatments, biopsies and suture repairs are available.
- We take an emphasis on preventative care including Complementary Medicine with nutritional supplements for optimal health.
We have a Nutritionist available part time and work with a Chronic Care Monitoring team to help support patient goals.

- Evaluating and managing patient's medical problems including old problems and new diagnoses.
- Management of medications, supplements, patient education and other therapies.
- Appropriate use of diagnostic tests, imaging and referrals.
- Planning health care screening and prevention interventions.
- Full EHR documentation and placement of orders.
- Taking care of patient questions and requests by phone, e-mail or EHR portal.
- Occasional assistance with medical care team rooming patients, taking vital signs, measuring weight and preparing patients for visits to help back-office personnel, when needed.
- Relaying complete and accurate messages for the doctor and other personnel, and communicating messages to patients in a respectful and pleasant fashion.
- Evaluating incoming patients for emergency warning signs, communicating these to the doctor in a timely fashion when needed and/or referring the patient to urgent care, emergency, or other services when needed.
- Performing all interactions with regard to strict patient confidentiality.
Job Details:
- Office hours M-Th 8:30am - 5:00pm w/ administrative duties on Fridays currently.
- This position could open patient hours to other days & times if better suited to everyone's schedules and if supported by patient volumes.
