Job Description:
Alliance Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is currently seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional physical therapy services to our residents. Responsibilities:
- Provide individual Physical Therapy services to residents according to their personalized care plans.
- Prepare necessary equipment and brief residents on procedures involved in physical therapy.
- Assist in transporting residents to and from the physical therapy area.
- Act as a receptionist for the physical therapy department and maintain a welcoming environment.
- Demonstrate the use of medical appliances to residents and nursing personnel.
- Perform physical therapy sessions in residents' rooms as necessary, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Encourage residents to participate in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and other therapeutic activities.
- Assist in administering various therapeutic treatments under the direction of licensed therapists.
- Maintain accurate treatment records, progress notes, and resident files.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing for physical therapy services provided.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Participate in the training and orientation of new physical therapy personnel as needed.
Requirements:
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state.
- Previous experience in an assistant capacity within a hospital, nursing care facility, or related medical setting.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in carrying out assigned tasks.
- Proficient communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Strong decision-making abilities and understanding of physical therapy policies and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining therapy areas and equipment.
- Willingness to learn and incorporate new methods and principles into therapy services.
- Ability to effectively communicate information regarding residents' conditions and treatment plans.
