The Physical Therapist Aid is responsible for providing support to PT’s and PT Assistants via cleaning equipment and therapeutic exercise and home program instruction as instructed by supervising Physical Therapist for the prevention, correction, or reduction of dysfunction.
Location: 23595 Moulton Pkwy, Laguna Woods, CA 92637
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supports physical therapy care delivery by preparing treatment area, patient, equipment, and materials, and performs procedures under the supervision of a physical therapist
- Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
- Prepares patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy apparel or apertures
- Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests and allaying fears
- Helps treat patients by helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion, tracking walking time and distance, measuring mobility, and performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques
- Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Provides equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment and supplies to treatment area, positioning equipment for therapist access, and positioning patient on equipment
- Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment, and calling for repairs
- Maintains physical therapy supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing, and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies

Required Qualifications:
- Current BLS certification at time of hire OR ability to become certified within 30 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience with Kinesiology and Anatomy
- Previous background in personal training or exercise physiology
- Proven ability to display great attention to detail and customer service
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work as team member and to be adaptable and flexible in daily work schedule as department needs require
- Effective in oral and written communication
- Display good attitude, interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork and judgement
Physical Requirements:
- Carrying/Lifting: Assists in carrying/lifting dependent patients, up to 150 lbs. of force
- Standing: 4 to 6 hours at a time
- Sitting: 2-4 hours at a time
- Walking: Intermittent walking throughout an 8-10 hour day
- Repetitive Motion: Able to use computer and execute manual treatment tasks as necessary
- Visual Acuity: Able to read medical records notes charts, and computer information
- Environmental Exposure: Hazardous and biohazardous materials
California Residents Only: The hourly range for California residents is $16.00 to $27.31 per hour.
