- Physical therapy staff members assist with ensuring the health and well-being of residents by providing comprehensive and quality therapy services. State specific Physical Therapy license is required.
- Utilize your physical therapy training, skills and experiences to make a difference with residents.
Responsibilities:
Initiates skilled physical therapy treatments in accordance with physician’s orders; maintains required contact with physician.
Maintains written evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries for residents in physical therapy program.
Confers with other health care staff regarding special needs of residents to enhance rehabilitation or maintenance of function.
Provides input for the Resident Care Planning meetings and attends during absences of the Director Physical Therapy.
Maintains statistical records of residents’ treatments.
Assists with in-service training programs upon request.
Records and updates resident’s plan of care in the Inter-disciplinary Kardex.
Submits requisition for supplies needed in the treatment of residents to Director Physical Therapy.
Assumes all duties of the Director Physical Therapy during absences including supervision of Physical Therapy Aides and responsibility for all necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved school of physical therapy required.
- State license to practice physical therapy required.
- Two years’ experience in physical therapy preferred.
- Interest in physical therapy treatment programs for the geriatric and subacute populations necessary.
- Ability to direct others necessary.
- Wakefield is a village of the town of South Kingstown in the state of Rhode Island. It has proximity to the Saugatucket River. Wakefield became the business center of South Kingstown. In 1925, the South County Hospital building was erected. It is still in the same location today. The village of Wakefield is rich in history, and its proximity to beaches and other attractions bring in thousands of tourists each summer. You can get anywhere by talking a walk through town. If you have a car, it only takes 5 minutes to get from one side to the other. There are buses that run from Wakefield to other locations all over the state. Wakefield is close to all of Rhode Island's beaches, ranging from Misquamicut beach on the western edge of the state to Second Beach in Newport. South Kingstown, the township of which Wakefield is a village, is home to three of the most beautiful beaches in the state, East Matunuck state beach, South Kingstown town beach in Matunuck, and the Moonstone Beach National Wildlife Refuge, the longest stretch of undeveloped beach in the state. There are numerous tourist destinations within an hour's drive, including the mansions of Newport, Rhode Island's Renaissance city Providence, the aquarium and seaport at Mystic, the world's largest casino Ledyard, and the ferry connecting to the breathtaking beauty of Block Island.
