Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical conditions and limitations.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
Utilize various therapeutic modalities and techniques to facilitate healing and recovery.
Guide and educate patients on prescribed exercises and activities.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Assist patients with functional mobility training, including transfers and ambulation.
Utilize manual therapy skills to relieve pain and improve mobility.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient treatments and progress.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients and their families about injury prevention and lifestyle modifications.
Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
Advocate for patients’ needs and facilitate appropriate referrals when necessary.
Manage equipment and treatment areas to ensure a safe therapy environment.
Assist in research initiatives or community education programs related to physical therapy.
Respond to patient feedback to improve service delivery and patient experience.
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice physical therapy.
Completion of a clinical internship or residency in physical therapy.
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.
Proficiency in developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding towards patients.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation standards.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practice.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Certifications in specialized areas (e.g., geriatrics, pediatrics) are preferred.
Willingness to participate in continuing education to stay current in the field.
Skills in patient education and motivation techniques.
Basic knowledge of insurance billing and coding processes related to physical therapy.
