Seven Hills Pediatric Center is a Pediatric Skilled Nursing Community unlike any other. Under the direction of our Pediatric Medical Director, children receive all the necessary medical, nursing, therapy, educational and leisure services possible to enhance their quality of life. Children attend our on-site accredited special needs school, Seven Hills Academy at Groton, while adults attend our on-site Adult Day Program. All staff work closely with each residents’ care team to provide opportunities for their greatest potential.
As a Physical Therapist at Seven Hills Pediatric Center, your role is crucial in providing physical therapy services to medically complex and fragile children. Physical Therapy services provided within this setting include, but not limited to, annual evaluations, IEPs, wheelchair assessment and letters of medical necessity, orthopedic bracing assessment, communication with Orthopedic and Physiatry physicians, and participation in inter-disciplinary meetings. Your responsibilities involve both hands-on interventions and required documentation to enhance the overall quality of life and physical well-being of pediatric patients.
Responsibilities:
- Respects and protects the personal rights of each student.
- Performs annual and admission evaluations and quarterly reevaluations with the support of PTAs as indicated.
- Contributes to and participates in Orthopedic and Physiatry Clinics. Assist clinic coordinator in organization of clinics. Presents students to physician for evaluation. Ensures follow-through of recommendations made by medical specialist.
- Instructs staff members in principles of physical therapy practice and student care techniques including but not limited to: back safety and transfer techniques, mobility, positioning, application and use of adaptive equipment, techniques of chest physical therapy.
- Provides consultative services to clinics, physicians, nursing, O.T., education staff, families and offsite education programs as it relates to specific student service plans.
Currently licensed as a physical therapist with the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professions.
Broad and thorough knowledge of physical therapy procedure typically acquired through completing an entry level degree program from a college/university accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association involving academic and supervised clinical practicum experience.
Skills include the ability to establish rapport with professional and nonprofessional level individuals; the ability to utilize effective oral and written communication skills; the ability to maintain poise and tact in all situations; and the ability to analytically problem solve.
Up to date vacination for Covid-19 or willing to sign a declination and wear a mask for peiod of time as indicarted by facility policy
