Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
Summary:
Evaluates and treats patient populations for physical therapy needs.
Responsibilities:
Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress. Provides information regarding appropriate selection and use of adaptive equipment and support resources.Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.Supervises activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to issues identified, required frequency of treatments, and involves the patient and family.Plans or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
