A DAY IN THE LIFE A PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at our long-term care facility, you arrive each day happy to work for a practice that gives you the time and support to get real results for your patients. You love the collaborative spirit at Natchitoches Nursing and Rehab where you have ample opportunities to learn and develop into a better therapist assistant. You use your knowledge of developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents to plan and deliver the best individualized care for each of your patients whether challenged with orthopedic issues, neurological diseases, or complex medical conditions.

You assist the physical therapist in providing patient centered care to meet residents' individual treatment goals. Your attention to detail is essential to your success, as you keep up-to-date and accurate records. And, your collaborative skills come into play as you play an active role on each patient's interdisciplinary team. Using your good communication skills, you also take the time to thoroughly educate caregivers at the skilled nursing facility on how to assist patients with their individualized maintenance programs. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT

• Associate degree or higher from an accredited physical therapy assistant program
• Current physical therapy assistant license
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations as they pertain to long-term care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation facilities
