IN A NUTSHELL…
The Physical Security Technician will work as a part of a team configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting of enterprise level security system access control, video systems, and servers. The Technician must be able to independently install, program, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on electronic devices, power supplies and all security and network components. They will collaborate with the Team to schedule and dispatch to customer sites for install, break/fix requests, preventative maintenance as well as small move, add, and change work. Responsible for documentation & reporting of findings & solutions for each service job performed.
In addition, the Technician must be able to learn the company's device monitoring/management methodologies. They must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work closely with subcontractors and customers. This position requires a valid driver's license and passing pre-employment drug and background checks.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Serving as technician for various security technology systems to include programming support for core functions and programming modifications for system performance improvement.
- Supporting infrastructure incidents at locations utilizing the security systems.
- Providing technical liaison assistance with Information Technology professionals and technology system vendors for server maintenance and proper integration of security systems with overall company IT infrastructure.
- Manage physical security system support to meet service level agreements.
- Providing technical support to sites to resolve day-to-day issues related to security technology systems.
- Analyze physical security system performance and recommend improvements.
- Resolve complex system issues for physical security systems and networks.
- Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Perform preventive maintenance actions including system back-ups, error log reviews, database size and integrity checks.
- Experience with Genetec Security and Bosch Intrusion systems a plus.
- Monitor system performance and data integrity utilizing regular audits and providing feedback to primary users and integrators.
- Assist with planning and managing changes to established Security and Information Technology standards during upgrades and maintenance windows.
- Assist in the installation and implementation of security solutions for facilities.
- Provide testing of new security technology system installations prior to final acceptance.
- Support and oversee new installation of security technology systems as it relates to ensuring compliance with standards, and support for local system integrators.
- Assist in creating, managing, and granting permissions for access control badges and the process for all Parallel employees including printing, data collection, and information logging.
- Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision.
- Travel up to 30% of time to Parallel facilities in Florida, if necessary, to replace and repair security equipment.
- Thoroughly complete all necessary paperwork relating to job tickets.
- Maintain the condition and cleanliness of any company vehicle used.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU'LL BRING
- Bachelor's degree and/or 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-orientation and organizational skills with a ability to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments.
- Ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Understanding of Networking and low voltage fundamentals.
- Age 21 or over
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Government-Issued Driver's License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop.
- The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
