Find your place at Pace®
Join us as a Scientist I, where you'll put your love of science to work performing and overseeing projects within our customers' research and development lab preparing, analyzing and reviewing data for a variety of material properties testing.
What you'll do
- Running chemical-mechanical planarization equipment
- Assembling silicon wafers and abrasive pads for testing
- Material properties analysis including DMA, hardness, eddy current, etc.
- Analyze samples by confocal laser scanning microscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
- Analyze samples by supporting techniques including optical interferometry
- General lab maintenance duties
- Clean, maintain and calibrate instruments
- Maintain detailed and organized documentation on all laboratory work
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Physics, or related field with lab courses, including chemistry courses, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Time management skills and a high level of independence after the training phase
- Good organizational skills, record keeping, and follow through will be integral to success
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and by email
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications
- Ability to perform work in a lab or office setting, remain standing for long periods while conducting tests, work around strong smells, and wear personal protective equipment while handling samples (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses and gloves; all PPE provided by Pace®).
