JOB SUMMARY:
A Physical Facilities Assistant Manager helps direct maintenance, forklift repair, and sanitation team members in the care and maintenance of all Salt Lake and Corporate facilities and equipment. Aids in the maintenance and repair of the buildings and grounds, electrical systems, HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, plumbing systems, etc. Responsible for bidding and project management on minor capital improvements (i.e.: dock plates, packaging, etc.). Designs and draws warehouse racking layouts, office remodels, etc. The Physical Facilities Assistant Manager, works alongside the Manager in all capacities to help lead and train the maintenance team and is expected to have a strong working knowledge of the following:
- Maintenance and repair of corporate office, corporate store buildings and properties, building equipment and systems, warehouse and dock equipment, and all exterior yards and property.
- Help maintain life safety for guests and team members as it pertains to facilities and systems.
- Oversees sanitation operations in the grocery warehouse.
- Forecasts annual expenses and major repairs for all facilities and aids in annual budget process for both corporate office and corporate retails facilities.
- Is involved with fire insurance issues, major capital improvement projects, maintenance and other issues within all Associated Food divisions and facilities.
- Direct and oversee bids, and contracts for 3rd party services such as janitorial services, waste disposal, cardboard recycling, fire protection monitoring, landscaping, snow removal etc.
- Actively participates in the format and timing of projects, facilitate project design, recommend best approach based on experience, project costs for approval, and initiate start of project.
- Analyzes and assesses equipment and system replacement vs repair.
- Interviews, bids and awards 3rd party contracts for equipment, systems and capital improvement projects.
- In emergency situations, decides what needs to be done and how quickly in order to restore warehouse operation.
- Other administrative tasks such as, but not limited to, invoice reconciliation, bids, contracts, yard improvements and repairs etc.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of all trade skills - carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.
Interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Computer proficiency with basic office suite programs (i.e. outlook, Teams, spreadsheets and PowerPoint.
Ability to work with and interpret CADD drawings.
Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
2 years trades training or equivalent preferred
4 years job-related experience preferred
Ability to react quickly and accurately to emergency situations that impair warehouse production.
Regular on-site attendance is required
