Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Physical & Electronic Security Specialist for a contract position in Overland Park, KS. Opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a longterm extension.
Position Summary: This person will need to be located in the northeast as they will be traveling to different job sites in the region including Connecticut and Maine.
Client is seeking an engineer or technical specialist to perform Physical and/or Electronic Security consulting, planning and design services with a focus on power utilities.
The role would be responsible for analyzing impacts and exposures based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks. You will collaborate and work with individuals from various geographies and disciplines within Client.

Client is seeking an engineer or technical specialist to perform Physical and/or Electronic Security consulting, planning and design services with a focus on power utilities.
The role would be responsible for analyzing impacts and exposures based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks. You will collaborate and work with individuals from various geographies and disciplines within Client.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Transfers knowledge, capabilities, and skills to improve others' knowledge and skill levels
- Contribute to the career development of others through engagement assignments
- Delegate work duties according to development opportunities and individual needs
- Facilitate client workshops to foster technical understanding and drive decisions
- Lead physical and electronic security assessments and gap analysis against best practices and standards
- Recommend physical and electronic security improvements aligned with risk management frameworks
- Develop security policies, procedures and controls for power utilities
- Collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze and validate the information needs and functional requirements
- Serve as a subject matter expert
- Lead physical and electronic security system design
- Develop and review design documents including drawings and specifications
- Manage deliverables quality and budget
- Familiarity with the understanding and interpretation building-design blueprints to determine the consistency of contractual security requirements
- Follow engineering and customer standards for design documentation
- Provide technical leadership for site-survey, deployment, installation and configuration and support engineering teams
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of associates in the organization
- Strong conceptual thinking — the ability to conceptualize complex business and technical requirements into understandable models and examples
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with an ability to understand the "big picture”
- Ability to think strategically and implement iteratively
Preferred:
- Professional Certification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or similar certifications.
- Working knowledge of physical and electronic security standards and others as required by our clients
- Experience performing facility walk downs in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working critical infrastructure sectors (Water, Power, Federal/DoD, Oil & Gas, Chemical etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or other related field
- Professional Engineering license in electrical, control systems or related field or ability to obtain PE Licensure within six months.
- MS Word / Excel / Bluebeam for project documentation
- Willingness to travel (~50%)
- Associates Degree in a technical field relatable to Physical and Electronic Security
- Minimum of 10 years Experience (Physical and Electronic Security)
- Experienced in physical security design of cameras, access control systems, threat detection and motion detectors in various facility applications.
