+ Serve as a subject matter expert.
Design
+ Lead physical and electronic security system designs.
+ Develop and review design documents including drawings and specifications.
+ Manage deliverables, quality, and budget.
+ Interpretation of building-design drawings to determine the consistency of contractual security requirements.
+ Follow engineering and customer standards for design documentation.
+ Provide technical leadership for site-survey, deployment, installation and configurationand support engineering teams.
Business Development
+ Support proposals and business development activities with Physical and ElectronicSecurity scopes.
+ Develop and lead client presentations.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders across different business solutions engineering disciplines, and business enablement functions
The Team
Black & Veatch’s Governments & Communities focuses on specific infrastructure needs of municipalities, state and local governments, and specialized physical and digital infrastructure solutions for government and federal agencies. By joining our market sector, you will be able to provide Physical and/or Electronic Security consulting, planning, and design services with a focus on critical infrastructure sectors (Power, Federal/DoD, Water, Oil & Gas, Chemical, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
+ Working knowledge of physical and electronic security standards and others as required by our clients.
+ Experiencein physical security design of cameras, access control systems, video surveillance/CCTV, threat detection and motion detectors in various facility applications.
+ Experience performing facility walk downs in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience working critical infrastructure sectors (Water, Power, Federal/DoD, Oil & Gas, Chemical, etc.)
+ Familiarity with Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) a plus.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Communications Engineering, or other related field
+ Experience in MS Word / Excel / Bluebeam for project documentation
Minimum Qualifications
This position supports Black & Veatch project work with the U.S. Federal Government. As a result, U.S. citizenship is a requirement.
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Certifications
+ Professional Certification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or similar certifications.
+ Professional Engineering license in electrical, control systems or related field or ability to obtain PE Licensure within six months.
Work Environment and Schedule
This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The position may also be require physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
