Job Description

You will be a large part of a small fun team of dedicated developers building out a feature-rich, API-driven platform that services customer data. This data connects our customer data on a variety of internal and third party platforms to deliver personalized digital experiences to thousands of customers every day. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a voracious appetite for learning new technologies, improving processes, and collaborating across disciplines.

Responsibilities

Design, code & build Whole Foods enterprise HTTP REST APIs using PHP
Assist in architecting, building, and supporting AWS infrastructure and messaging queues on which we run our APIs
Work closely with the architect team, product owner, scrum master, QA and DevOps team
Take ownership of features from backlog through deployment.
Author server-side code that is maintainable, reliable, secure, and scalable.
Write unit tests.
Improve the team's code quality by conducting code reviews and proactively adopting new processes and tools.
Potential evening and weekend incident response may be required.

Must haves:

3 to 5 years experience in PHP development with relational database experience
Strong working knowledge of Object-Oriented design
Working experience with a PHP framework (Symphony, Laravel, Code Ignitor, etc)
Working experience using source control management tools, preferably Git
Working experience writing unit and integration tests

Nice to haves:

Experience with an Agile team
Experience with consuming or writing REST APIs with JSON payload
Experience with message queues and queue workers
