Phlebotomist at ICONMA, LLC

• Under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor, the Phlebotomist II obtains and prepares specimens for analysis, is trained in Paternity Collections, processes Tissue, PAP, Cytology and blood/swab specimens, etc., for various reference laboratories, enters/batches reference lab orders, prints reports as assigned, answers/routes phone calls, monitors the pneumatic tube system, sorts/files faxes/orders/papers and receives specimens from outreach clinics.

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to competently complete on-the-job training provided within the department.
• A minimum of 1 year of previous health care experience in a direct patient care related role.
• Certification as a nursing assistant is preferred not required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Basic clerical skills.
• Ability to learn phlebotomy skills and perform phlebotomy procedures competently.
• Ability to communicate with tact and professionalism.
• Minimum Years of Experience: Less than 1 year.

Preferred:

• Prior lab experience preferred.
