Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m
– 2:30 p.m
and 8:00 a.m
– 4:30 p.m., alternating tours
(Overtime if required)

Job Description:
a
Perform blood collection requiring knowledge of clinical science to understand the multiplicity of tests and specimen requirements, the mechanics of venipuncture and patient preparation.
b
Perform phlebotomy to obtain patient specimens for laboratory testing including blood cultures and compatibility samples.
c
Accession and receive samples into Client laboratory information system package for in house testing or send outs to reference laboratories.
d
Instruct patients in proper collection of 24-hour urine and other samples collected at home.
e
Prepare collection, measure, and record 24-hour urine volumes.
f
Transport specimens to the laboratory including those requiring special handling.
g
Look up laboratory order numbers and patient information for outpatient draws.
h
Use numbering system to check patients into the laboratory.
i
Answer phone and direct calls to other laboratory sections
j
Establish and maintain effective interpersonal skills and good customer relations with
Patients, Families, and all other Medical Center Employees.
k
Provide general clerical and administrative support for the area.
l
Stock and maintain specialized supplies used in the drawing area

Required:
- Experience: Minimum one-year experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support BLS (CPR)
