Schedule: Mon - Fri 8am to 5pm. Must be flexible to work at multiple Vancouver Clinic locations.
Hiring range: Starts at $23.50, higher depending on experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares IV's and labels all IV products under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Ensure organizational compliance of current DEA and State regulations regarding controlled substances, and current federal and state licensing regulations, as well as best-practices for optimizing patient safety in ambulatory health system pharmacy.
- Support multiple applications, including Epic medication administration audits and diversion detection and prevention audits.
- Stocks and manages legend drugs including controlled substances in patient care areas, takes controlled substance physical inventories, and reconciles controlled substance inventory counts.
- Serve as a Pyxis expert across the organization and manages stock levels in Pyxis devices throughout the organization; helps departments with maintenance, addition of medications, barcode scanning, reporting and optimization. Inspects medications for outdates in patient care area Pyxis stations on a monthly basis.
- Helps to facilitate purchasing of medications from suppliers, checks in the order when appropriate, processes invoices, credits and backorders. Restocks medications as needed.
- Support the pharmacists involved in population health and value based care to implement cost effective strategies to improve patient care (ie. Patient assistance, program, participation in review and triage of Epic reports, prescription refill assistance, optimization of medication management, etc.)
- Assist with identifying, tracking and reporting of patients with open medication adherence gaps. Reviews medication adherence reports, reviews intervention opportunities, prioritizing them according to risk, and refer them to a pharmacist for intervention, provides follow up with pharmacies to verify patients pick up medications, closing care gaps.
- Ability to assist the pharmacist with rooming patient, and pre-work before visits.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient computer and keyboarding skills including MS Office applications
- Good mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize workflow in a dynamic and sometimes chaotic environment
- Ability to take suggestions, corrections and directions from the pharmacists
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- WA State Certified Pharmacy Technician license required.
- Minimum of one year experience as a Pharmacy Technician required.
- Experience with Pyxis and IV admixture preferred.
Pay Range:
$24.21 - $33.90

PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
