Pharmacy Technician - Pacifica Hospital of the Valley

The PHARMACY TECHNICIAN, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, performs assigned tasks related to medication distribution in an accurate, timely and safe manner. In addition, the PHARMACY TECHNICIAN is responsible for maintaining appropriate patient records and inventory control.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fills physician orders, medication surgical kits, mediation carts and stock requisitions
• Replenishes medications in emergency drug containers and floor stock areas
• Maintains floor stock (restocking, removal of expired medication and stock rotation) of nursing areas and other medication areas. Stocks incoming medication deliveries. Processes returns and back orders in a timely manner.
• Prepares IV medication products within the guidelines of applicable laws and regulations.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

• CA Registered Pharmacy Technician (Required)
• One (1) year experience in an acute care environment
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
• Demonstrated computer competencies
• Excellent organizational skills
