Pharmacy Technician - Suncoast Community Health Centers Inc.

POSITION TITLE: PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

FLSA: NON-EXEMPT

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Current Registered Florida Pharmacy Technician license.
• Current Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate preferred.
• Ability to type accurately.
• Ability to do basic Pharmaceutical math quickly and accurately
• Experience preparing pharmaceutical labels using pharmacy computer system
• BLS
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Receives reads, and properly prepares prescription labels.
• Follow Pharmacy SOP for monitoring medication stock levels, reorders, price, availability, and appropriate inventory levels.
• Verify eligibility for Medicaid, HCHCP, and other third-party payers.
• Pull and replace filed prescriptions needing a refill and accomplish other filing as needed.
• Answer phone, properly respond to questions from physicians, nurses, and patients that are strictly routine in nature and refer other inquiries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
• Conduct Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities. Keep a record of numerous statistical data, and ensure availability of pharmaceuticals by alerting Pharmacists to potential out-of-stock and increased usage situations.
• Help stock shelves, checking expiration dates, and quantities on hand.
• Other duties as assigned.
