About the Job
NuCara Pharmacy is a dynamic, growing, retail pharmacy serving patients in Austin and surrounding areas in Texas. We are looking for a full-time highly motivated, efficient, and adaptable Certified Compounding Pharmacy Technician to work both in our compounding lab as well as in our front end department for patient care. At NuCara, our goal is to provide the best service to our community by offering a wide variety of products. We are looking for candidates who enjoy working as a team to provide prompt, high-quality care to our patients.
Requirements
Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task. Excellent attention to detail. Independently motivated. Ability to learn and accurately apply policies and procedures. Knowledge of medications and medical terminology is required for transcribing prescription orders. Demonstrates ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Compounding non-sterile medications
- Retail technician duties
- Ability to work as a team

- Inventory & equipment management
- Compliance with USP guidelines
- Following Texas State Board of Pharmacy and accreditation standards
- Proactive listener and effective speaker

- Knowledge of mathematics to solve problems

- Accurately type new orders and process refills
- Ability to read and understand prescribed orders for compounded medications
- Place calls to patients to notify them when receiving a prescription, obtain payment info, notification upon completion of fill, etc.
- Contact patient care providers for refills, clarification on orders, demographics, etc.
- Answer incoming calls from patients and prescribing offices
- Package prescriptions for shipment to patients' homes and doctors' offices
- Kindly greet patients at the front desk, retrieve completed prescriptions in the will-call bins and run a point of sale system
Qualifications and Skills
- Certified pharmacy technician registered in the state of Texas
- Previous compounding experience
