About the Job
Join our team as a Vaccine Transport Courier and play a vital role in our mission to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of vaccines within the State of Tennessee. Working closely with the Vaccine-Preventable Diseases and Immunization Program (VPDIP) staff, you will be responsible for transporting vaccines effectively and efficiently, with a focus on preventing vaccine excess and expiration.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the VFC COVID-19 program staff to transport vaccines securely and punctually.
Manage the safe transfer of vaccinations from the sending provider to the accepting provider, adhering to CDC storage and handling guidelines.
Map out efficient routes for vaccine delivery, considering traffic and mileage.
Ensure the punctual collection and delivery of vaccines, maintaining accurate documentation.
Verify recipients' signatures on delivery receipts and ensure designation accuracy.
Maintain the safety and integrity of vaccines during transportation.
Log mileage and maintenance information on company records.
Perform inventory checks of ancillary medical items to be collected or delivered.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Maintain a set vaccine delivery schedule and ensure proper packing of vaccines according to CDC guidelines.
Monitor temperature control of portable refrigerators during transportation and at delivery points.
Perform routine maintenance checks on service vehicles, including fluid level checks and refueling.
Requirements:
Certification as a Pharmacy Technician, EMT, CNA, or LPN.
Completion of current HIPAA training.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
Proficiency in medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and CDC vaccine shipping guidelines.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically fit with the ability to lift at least 20 pounds.
