About the Job
We are seeking a dedicated transport courier to join our team in ensuring the safe and efficient transport of vital vaccinations and medical items. As part of our COVID-19 program, you will play a crucial role in preventing vaccine wastage and expiration by delivering vaccines promptly across the State of Tennessee.
Primary Responsibilities:
Receive vaccines and medical items from healthcare facilities, ensuring clear understanding of instructions.
Safely store vaccines and medical items in the delivery vehicle while maintaining accurate documentation for each item.
Plan and execute efficient routes considering traffic and mileage, ensuring timely collection and delivery.
Verify recipients and ensure proper documentation upon delivery, prioritizing the safety of each item.
Log mileage and maintenance information, adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
Perform inventory counts and ensure proper packing of vaccines according to CDC guidelines.
Prepare vaccine transport logs and monitor temperature control during transport.
Take immediate action if temperature control is compromised, following established protocols.
Maintain service vehicle, including fluid levels and fuel replenishment.
Expectations:
As a transport courier, you are expected to:
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Be reliable, professional, and punctual with strong routing and directional abilities.
Demonstrate effective record-keeping skills and work comfortably under tight deadlines.
Complete required CDC COVID-19 Vaccine Training Modules and adhere to shipping and handling guidelines.
Collaborate with healthcare facilities to ensure seamless vaccine transport.
Requirements:
To qualify for this position, you must have:
Pharmacy Technician certification, EMT certification, CNA, or LPN.
Current HIPAA training.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
At least 2 years of related experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and CDC vaccine guidelines.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically fit with the ability to lift at least 20 pounds.
