The Role
Headlands Research Orlando is looking for a PRN Pharmacy Technician to join their team. This is a crucial role that assists the entire research team in successful completion of our ground-breaking clinical trials.
Clinical Research Pharmacy Technician- Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist and or Certified Pharmacy Technician, coordinates and supports the daily functions of pharmacy services within clinical trials.

Responsibilities:
- Manages inventory of all Investigational Product pertaining to clinical trials, that includes receiving, organizing, and monitoring the safety and efficacy use of the investigational product.
- Receives all shipments of Investigational Product in a timely fashion through IRT, IWRs portals in association to the studies.
- Maintains proper physical counts and expiry dates of the Investigational Product and any pharmacy related items.
- Organizes placement of Investigational Product in proper storage conditions according to specifications within the protocol or pharmacy manual.
- Assists Pharmacist with the set-up of pharmacy study binders when new clinical trials are introduced.
- Ensures all study binders are labeled and properly stored in a manner that pharmacist and pharmacy staff can identify their location. Places all contents of the pharmacy binder with updated and current versions.
- Maintains all functionality of pharmacy equipment and workstations, with daily cleaning, scheduling yearly calibrations that includes the following: BSC (biological safety cabinet), thermometers, eyewash station, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Documents all temperatures daily pertaining to the Investigational Product.
- Prepares all investigational Product by way of aseptic technique and specifications within the pharmacy manual under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. Documents all information from start to finish associated with the preparation of the Investigational Product.
- Conducts all pharmacy related duties in a manner that maintains the blind of the Investigational Product.
- Maintains all accountability logs of dispensation and the return of all Investigational Product related to subject’s participation within the clinical trial.
- Reports all discrepancies, and temperature related issues to the clinical monitor and sponsor in a timely manner.
- Keep a running inventory of all ongoing studies at the site. Records all pharmacy end dates for closures of the Investigational Product of a study.
- Maintains compliance of all licensures, and certifications required by the state.
- Maintains all compliance by completing all trainings and educational functions required to perform task within a clinical trial.
- Meet with monitors assigned to the trial by responding to questions and providing all essential documentation related to the inventory, preparation, dispensation, and return of the Investigational Product.
- Communicates and executes efficiently in a timely manner all tasks and duties assigned by the pharmacist.
- Ordering of supplies for pharmacy use.
- Performs and effectively communicates all tasks and other duties and responsibilities with other pharmacy staff consistent with the clinical trials protocol and with the job classification.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of a formalized Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a similar role.
- Candidates should have an acumen for medication reconciliation, have abilities to multitask, work independently of others, and exercise self-guidance.
