Cleveland Clinic's inpatient pharmacy areas support distributive and clinical pharmacy services provided by staff pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists and pharmacy technicians, supporting units, ORs, PACUs and/or cath labs at Tradition Hospital .
A caregiver in this position works day/evening rotation, 6:00am-10:00pm .

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.
- Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
- Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
- Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Licensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
- Ability to communicate with other caregivers and patients in an effective and positive manner.
- Demonstration of emotional control and intelligence in managing work relationships.
- Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician ( CPhT ) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). CPhT through the PTCB is required within 18 months of hire.
- Six months of hospital experience.
