MUST:
Experienced Pharmacy Technician
Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy for Maryland or the District of Columbia Board of Pharmacy for DC as a Pharmacy Technician
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified required
2+ years of pharmacy technician experience
Experience compounding hazardous medications (chemotherapy) and non-hazardous medications
DUTIES:
Accurately stages medications for dose preparation
Fill new drug orders prior to pharmacist final check
Fills medication carts prior to pharmacist final check
If assigned by departmental leadership, may prepare injectable, chemotherapy, or other specialty medications according to established procedures prior to pharmacist final check
Deliver medications to patient care areas according to procedures, within scheduled time frames and/or follows pneumatic tube procedures
Perform routine inventory counts of medications, check expiration dates, and remove all expired or recalled medications for disposal
