Pharmacy Technician - Automation

As an Automation Pharmacy Technician, you will provide assistance and pharmacy technician knowledge while acting as a liaison between Nurse Managers and the pharmacy department concerning the automated dispensing units (Pyxis) .
A caregiver in this position works a day/evening rotation from 6:30AM - 3:00PM or 2:00PM - 10:30PM with weekend and on-call requirements.

- Maintain automated dispensing systems and address questions or concerns regarding the system.
- Routinely troubleshoot pharmacy automation equipment, drawer failures, medication jams, fail counts, etc.
- Assist with coordinating the expansion of Pyxis units across all inpatient nursing units, procedure areas, OR suites and hospital outpatient areas
- Provide on-call coverage for urgent issues.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician ( CPhT ) verified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) .
- Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. You must register as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within 6 months of hire.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.
- Three years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
