Join our dynamic team in Morristown, NJ, where you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch pharmaceutical services. We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill orders accurately and promptly, prepare extemporaneous preparations, and ensure all areas are routinely stocked. Your attention to detail will help maintain seamless operations and exceptional patient care.
- Filling Orders: Accurately fill orders for pharmacist review and dispense. Prepare extemporaneous preparations, stock areas, and manage cart/bin exchanges. Document and address issues on patient profiles.
- Distribution/Returns: Handle requests professionally via phone, window, fax, and computer. Deliver medications and manage returns from nursing stations.
- Teamwork: Support departmental goals, assist staff, and adapt to various roles. Comply with coverage guidelines and support Atlantic Health's strategic objectives.
- Sterile Preparations: Prepare IVs aseptically, manage batched IV medications, and ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Demonstrate strong knowledge of sterile techniques and safe handling of hazardous drugs.
- Automated Dispensing Machine: Fill machines accurately, manage stock outs, and resolve equipment issues. Perform monthly inspections and manage expired medications.
- Repackaging/Inventory Control: Repackage medications, ensure bar-coding, and manage expired products. Retrieve recalled medications and organize supplies.
- Performance Improvement/Customer Satisfaction: Handle inquiries promptly and courteously, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and maintain workflow with the pharmacist.
Skills
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience (2 years) preferred.
- Oncology/infusion center experience preferred.
- Required skills: Pharmacy, Sterile, Inventory Control, PTCB, Pharmacy Technician Certification.
- Additional skills: Reconciliation, Oncology, Team Player, Workflow, Hospital Pharmacy, Inspections.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent required. College courses desirable but not required. Current active registration with the State of New Jersey Board of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is essential. Previous hospital pharmacy experience (2 years) is preferred.
