Responsibilities & Requirements
The meds-to-beds pharmacy technician serves as the main point of contact between patients, floor staff and the retail pharmacy. In this position, the pharmacy technician manages the meds-to-bed process, from patient identification and enrollment to delivering medications at the bedside and collecting payment. The meds-to-beds technician will enhance communication with staff, improve patient satisfaction, grow clinical staff buy-in, and increase discharge prescription capture rates. The meds-to-beds pharmacy technician will be cross-trained to support the retail pharmacy by performing routine tasks within the pharmacy during peak hours.
Assists pharmacy team in total prescription filling process; data entry, inventory monitoring, counting, labeling, ordering, stocking, filing, and selling of prescribed and OTC products.
Coordinates care with a multi-disciplinary team, communicates directly with patients and caregivers to ensure timely and accurate filling of prescriptions and documentation as required.
Comply with state and federal drug laws.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED
-Must maintain a current PTCB or NHA certification and OH Board of Pharmacy Certified Registered Technician status
-2 years pharmacy technician experience
