Responsibilities
- Optimize Medication Use: Monitor and improve drug therapy regimens to ensure patient safety and effectiveness.
- Clinical Consultation: Provide guidance to healthcare practitioners and suggest cost-effective alternatives.
- Formulary Management: Maintain our hospital's formulary and promote rational drug therapy.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee medication safety, analyze adverse drug reactions, and mentor colleagues.
- Program Development: Develop and manage pharmacy clinical programs to enhance patient care.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and staff.
- Committee Participation: Collaborate with medical and nursing staff on various committees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required (Doctor of Pharmacy preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year as a Pharmacy Clinical/Operations Specialist.
- At least 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience; management experience preferred.
- Specialty BCPS certification, ACLS, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Meditech, and purchasing vendor applications.
