SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking 2 Pharmacist - Willow Specialist to join our Pharmacy Adminteam. These positions are part-time with benefits, 40 hours per pay period, day shift.
Purpose of this position: The Willow Specialist optimizes the medication process, from ordering to administration, formulary maintenance, and development of effective process design and its implementation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and helps to develop Clinical Decision Support used within the EHR. The Specialist supports pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians as the resource for medication related changes or additions in the EHR. The Specialist works closely with clinicians, departmental leadership, Quality, Patient Safety, and Licensure Departments and Information Systems staff to clarify needs, prioritize requests, and work with the EHR team to develop and implement requests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prioritizes medication management work completed in the EHR system in conjunction with pharmacy management and based on the daily needs of the pharmacy department and the health system
- Helps coordinate input into the pharmacy EHR system design and upgrades regarding changes or enhancements within the EHR for the Health System
- Participates in the build and development of pharmacy and medication related Clinical Decision Support within the EHR
- Participates in quality projects and on assigned committees to provide expertise on using the EHR for medication related activities
- Serves as liaison between the Health System and the EHR to facilitate and problem solve medication issues as needed
- Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare delivery team, leadership, and the EHR team
- Works with the EHR team to understand user specifications that may require more specific tailoring or configuration
- Serves as liaison between users and the EHR and IT team members to respond to technical questions
- Assist with drug shortage issues and changes to the EHR
- Participate as a pharmacy resident preceptor or residency project mentor
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
- An approved equivalent combination of education and experience – Residency PGY1 or 5 years clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- BPS certification
- EPIC certification in Inpatient Willow application
- EPIC certification in Clinical Decision Support
- PGY2 residency from accredited ASHP residency program
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Project management skills; ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists, and manage project plan
- Ability to understand client (user) business and how EPIC may be configured to meet Health System needs
- Computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access desirable
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
License/Certifications:
- Possession of a valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Minnesota or within 60 days of hire
