Location: Medical Treatment Facility, Naval Health Clinic Lemoore, CA
Position Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule:
- Days: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Shifts: 8.5 to 9 hours with a 30-60 minute lunch break
- Maximum Hours: 80 hours per two-week period
Duty Hours: Monday – Friday between 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM as dictated by the Government Supervisor
On-Call Hours: None
Overage Hours: None
Call-Back Hours: Not required
Qualifications:
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy
- Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (must present proof of current certification).
- Certifications must be maintained at no cost to the government.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience after graduation.
- Board Certification: None
- Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a full range of pharmacist procedures.
- Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities of the facility.
- Counsel patients regarding appropriate use of medications.
- Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing to closely monitor medication therapy.
- Ensure prescription directions for use, dose, medication interactions, therapeutic duplications, allergy information, age-specific dosage, and other pertinent data are appropriate for individual patients. Intervene with providers for any discrepancies.
- Compound medications as required.
- Ensure the accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.
- Perform inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and ensure pharmacy security. Maintain appropriate records and security of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulations.
