Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional patient care and contribute to a thriving pharmacy team. St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, WA is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Per Diem Pharmacist to join our outpatient pharmacy. This role offers the flexibility of per diem work while providing the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient health outcomes.
About the Role:
You will provide effective, efficient, and accurate ambulatory pharmaceutical care, meeting both department financial and customer service goals. Working in accordance with protocols, internal guidelines, and Washington State Board of Pharmacy regulations, your responsibilities will include:
+ Medication Management: Compounding and dispensing medications according to prescriptions, ensuring safe, efficacious, and cost-effective therapy. This includes collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens.
+ Patient Counseling: Providing comprehensive medication counseling and drug therapy monitoring to patients, educating them on proper medication use and potential side effects.
+ Insurance Coordination: Working with insurance companies to obtain authorization for prescription coverage (depending on staffing levels).
+ Immunizations: Administering routine and travel immunization vaccines.
+ Teamwork: Collaborating with pharmacy staff to achieve departmental goals, including inventory control, efficient workflow, and exceptional customer service. Supervising Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians as needed.
+ Regulatory Compliance: Adhering to all relevant regulations and standards of practice, including Washington State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
+ BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy. A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is preferred.
+ Minimum one year of retail pharmacy experience within the past two years.
+ Current Washington State Pharmacist license.
+ Knowledge of ambulatory pharmacy practices, including inventory management and insurance billing.
+ Proficiency in medication compounding and dispensing.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Current healthcare provider BLS certification and Pharmacy-based Immunization Delivery certification are required.
