Clinical Pharmacist Specialist (BCOP) - Hematology/Oncology

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is engaged in a search for a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist (BCOP) - Hematology/Oncology to join our partner's team at a leading general hospital in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for a skilled pharmacy professional with advanced clinical oncology expertise and a commitment to patient-focused care, with experience in ASHP-accredited residency programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized clinical pharmacy services to hematology and oncology patients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and monitor patient-specific care plans.
• Conduct therapeutic drug monitoring and provide essential drug information to medical staff.
• Participate in clinical research and support ongoing educational programs.

Qualifications

Education
Completion of an accredited pharmacy education program recognized by the credentialing body.

Experience
Required: Must meet one of the following criteria:

• Successful completion of an ASHP-accredited post-graduate year one (PGY1) residency or equivalent (three years of clinical pharmacy per residency year).
• Preferred: ASHP-accredited PGY2 or fellowship training.
• Three years of clinical practice experience.
• Meets standards to qualify as an ASHP residency preceptor within one year.

Licenses and Certifications
Required:

• Texas Pharmacist License or eligibility within 90 days.
• Pharmacist Preceptor Certification - State Licensure within 90 days.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) for Code Blue pharmacists within 90 days.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA) for Code Blue pharmacists within 90 days.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Certification within 90 days if applicable to the assignment.
• Intravenous (IV) Certification (ACPE) if required, within 90 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS - AHA) certification within 90 days.
  Preferred:
• Board of Pharmacy Specialist (BPS) certification.
