The Pet Adjuster will report to our Assistant Vice President Claims and be based in or near Ocala, Florida. This position will support our Pet Insurance program.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
Obtain a valid claims adjuster license (upon completion of training).
Investigate and determine coverage of loss and adjust all elements of pet claims.
Prepare coverage position letters and handle appeals submitted by customers on claims where coverage is in dispute.
Utilize specialized knowledge in pet health to interpret and analyze veterinary records.
Work with broker/partner, customers and veterinary professionals to address questions, resolve problems and maintain rapport.
Maintain detailed records of claim activities and report on claim status to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.
Participate in special projects or assist other team members as needed.
In addition to the above key responsibilities, may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require.
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
PC literate – good working knowledge of MS Office .
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in typing / keyboarding.
Time management and organizational skills.
Competent in mathematics.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Possess critical thinking and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with others
Ability to simplify, analyze and explain complex issues
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and prioritize assignments
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Pet health knowledge required.
Small animal vet industry experience preferred
Experience in Insurance or Legal field preferred.
